Teeth Cleaning

The ultrasonic technology eliminates the need for abrasive brushing, with the combination of the ultrasound toothpaste and water breaking down the plaque and tartar, helping to kill any bacteria within the mouth.
As a responsible Dog Groomer, we need to make sure it is safe to use the Emmi-Pet ultrasonic toothbrush on the dog in our care by checking the state of their gums and teeth.
The Emmi-Pet ultrasonic toothbrush must not to be used if the dog’s gums and/or teeth show any of the following symptoms:
Red Gums
Inflamed Gums
Gums Bleed on Touch
Sore Looking Gums
Loose Teeth
Receding Gum Line
Teeth heavily laden with Plaque and Tartar
Rotting Teeth
We are not trained Vets, and it is our responsibility to only inform the client of our findings and not to give medical advice. For this, they should visit their registered Vet.
Fleas

Why Fleas Are a Common Part of Pet Ownership
For anyone who owns a dog, discovering that our furry companion has fleas can evoke feelings of embarrassment or self-doubt. You might wonder if you’ve done something wrong or worry that others will judge your pet care. Rest assured, these tiny pests are a remarkably common occurrence, and their presence is not a reflection of neglect or poor hygiene.
Why You Shouldn’t Feel Embarrassed
- It Happens to Everyone: Fleas are opportunists. Outdoor walks, visits to the park, and contact with another animal can introduce fleas to your dog’s coat. No amount of care can guarantee you will never face this problem.
- Not a Sign of Uncleanliness: Fleas are attracted to pets, not because they are dirty, but because they offer warmth, shelter, and a food source. Fleas do not discriminate based on your cleaning habits or your dog’s grooming routine.
- Easy to Address: With modern treatments such as spot on solutions, oral medications, and flea collars, fleas can be swiftly and efficiently managed. Vets are well-versed in helping owners reclaim a pest-free home.
Destigmatizing Fleas
It’s important to talk openly about fleas. By sharing experiences and solutions, we as responsible pet owners can support one another and learn that these tiny pests are a universal nuisance. There is no shame in having a dog that gets fleas; it is simply part of life with animals.
If your dog is found to have fleas when visiting the Dog Groomers, we are not there to shame you as a pet owner, we just want to help and advise you, so don’t be afraid to seek advice – we have seen it all and can help you.
What to Do If Your Dog Has Fleas
- Consult your veterinarian for safe, effective treatment options.
- Clean your pet’s bedding and your home thoroughly to prevent re-infestation.
- Consider year-round flea prevention, especially in warmer climates.
- Inform your Dog Groomer as soon as possible, should you have a pending appointment in order for them to make alternative arrangements.
The bottom line: fleas are a nuisance, they are not a reflection of your abilities as a pet owner. Caring for your dog, addressing the issue swiftly, and seeking advice when needed are what truly matter. Above all, know you are not alone, nearly every dog owner has faced fleas at some point. Let’s break the stigma and focus on keeping our pets healthy and happy.
