Hand-stripping is a specialist grooming technique used to maintain the texture and appearance of certain coat types, typically found in breeds like Terriers, Schnauzers, and Spaniels. This method involves removing dead hair by hand—using a combination of stripping tools, fingers, and chalk for better grip—to encourage healthy coat regrowth and preserve the natural coat texture.
This service is only suitable if your dog’s coat is right for hand-stripping. I will always assess your dog beforehand and recommend a pre-visit before booking the appointment to ensure it’s the best option for them.
Please Note: I will only hand-strip areas your dog is comfortable with and will never cause unnecessary pain or discomfort.
